Like the two-faced Greek Goddess, Venus, Madonna's thirtieth studio album, Rebel Heart, is the embodiment of just that. Mixing the elements of emotional and spiritual with her rebellious side, this album achieved the pop desire we've been looking for since 2005's Confession of a Dance Floor.

I mean, you get me, right? Hard Candy and MDNA was not Madge's best releases. They're nothing like Confessions or Ray of Light (no argument it's Madge's magnum opus). Rebel Heart, on the other hand, sounds like the best of her 90's works, mixed together with the futuristic sounds, thanks to Avicii and producer du jour, Diplo.

Anyway, I'm 50/50 about this record. In one side, I love the vulnerable side of it. Tracks like 'Joan of Arc' and 'Devil Pray' touched Madge's personal dilemmas, such as drug addiction and her own popularity. It's the side of Madonna we rarely see on stage nowadays.

But, there's no need for such vulgar and on-your-face kinda tracks. Case in point: 'Unapologetic Bitch'. 'Illuminati' and 'S.E.X.'. Who sings about coming inside? Ugh.

Aside the debut single, some tracks that I think will be great singles are 'Iconic' and 'Best Night' - these two might serve the best on the dance floor. In BuzzFeed's wisest quote: "... (these songs) will probably live in her pantheon of great songs."

Rest aside, Rebel Heart is a cool album. Sure I don't like Madonna's new rebellious personal (she's not 20, okay), but musically, this record is a pivotal turn in marking her return to the dance scene.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
