Single Review | Lorde - Yellow Flicker Beat

Lorde
Yellow Flicker Beat - Single
Republic
Release date: September 29, 2014

The official curator for the upcoming Mockingjay, Lorde, has laid down the first track off the film's soundtrack LP. REJOICE!

After bestowing Catching Fire with 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World', Lorde gave us the first taste with the eerie and haunting 'Yellow Flicker Beat'.

The song, in my opinion, fits oh-so-nice within Lorde's forever creepy discography. It starts off pretty slow at first, then she throws that exploding beat and synths - PERFECTO for a huge movie like The Hunger Games.

AKDHAGU3Y8YDASHD I'm crazy about this one, I'm telling ya!

“It’s my first offering from what I hope will be a soundtrack you love. It’s my attempt at getting inside her head, Katniss’. I hope you like it,” she said in her Tumblr post.

While we waiting for the official soundtrack album to be released on November 18, we'll drink this one first.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
