Single Review | Lana Del Rey - Shades of Cool

Lana Del Rey
Shades of Cool - Single
Polydor
Release date: May 26, 2014

My fav gal, Lana Del Rey, released her second single, 'Shades of Cool', off her upcoming record, Ultraviolence.

The single kicks off with that riff which sounds eerie similar to Nancy Sinatra's 1966 smash hit, 'My Baby Shot Me Down'. Then it slowly morphs into a very depressing track with some rock vibe which I kinda dig, especially in the rain.

This one is sexy as hell, m'kay.

The track was produced by Rick Nowels, who co-wrote 'Young and Beautiful' and 'Summertime Sadness' with Ms. Del Rey.

Not so sure if the track will be her official single or just a teaser of her album (mark the date, peeps: June 16th). Either way, this one is a triumph!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
