Music Video Review | Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband

Meghan Trainor
Dear Future Husband - Single
Epic
Release date: March 17, 2015 (Single) / March 16, 2015 (Music Video)

Ah, there's a way to swoon Meghan Trainor's heart, and it is with a box of pizza (and a winning smile!).

'Dear Future Husband' is a track off Trainor's debut album and EP, both titled Title, and it is about a girl giving a guideline on how her future husband should be like.

Being a guy, I am slightly frustrated about the song. Yes, it is nice to the ears. And yes, it is about what women want. But no, it's kinda condescending for guys listening to so many demands on how we should please her.

Ugh, I can go on and on about this but I'm dropping the hot topic for now...

The video, on the other hand, is gorgeous to the eyes and pretty much a glossy view of a suburban woman. Here, we can see Trainor being all American with her poofy big hair and colourful outfits, and she (with the help of her tech savvy dancing friends) is looking for a guy who can win her heart, with a dating app, of course!

After being shoved with overtly-strong muscle guy and pushy douchebag at the dining table, Meghan finally fell in love with a pizza delivery guy (hence the pun up there!) and my final reaction is like: that is completely different from what you said in the lyrics.

I guess a gorgeous face is all it takes. Meh.

Anyway, Meghan is looking real good in that latex blue skirt (amiright?), but I don't like watching the scene where she's scrubbing the floor but I'm gonna let that be the discussion among feminists out there.

Watch the video and please sound off your POVs in the box below...

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
