Music Video Review | Lana Del Rey - West Coast

Lana Del Rey
West Coast - Single
Polydor
Release date: April 14, 2014 (Single) / May 7, 2014 (Music Video)

Ms. Del Rey has finally released the music video for her new single, 'West Coast', which is set to appear in her upcoming album, Ultraviolence.

The video, similar to her single preview awhile back, is mostly black and white, with a few hue of colours pop out at the very final minute.

In my opinion, the mood of the video fits the single, but it's pretty boring and bland. She's brushing her hair, then clinging to a long-haired gentleman (same guy in 'Born to Die'?), then sitting alongside an older (sugar daddy?) in a car. And all scenes are shot in slow-motion style.

Do I love this? Hrmm, I kinda anticipated this from her, but I'm not loving this video. I wonder if she'll ever do another visually-empecable video like 'Born to Die'?

FYI, Ultraviolence's release date is not yet announced. Hopefully it's soon!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
