Single Review | Janet Jackson - No Sleeep

Janet Jackson
No Sleeep - Single
Rhythm Nation / BMG
Release date: June 22, 2015

By Shawal Ras

Janet Jackson returns to the spotlight with a new single in years, ‘No Sleeep’.

The single starts with the calming sound of rain falling and smooth synths before Jackson begins to detail how she and her lover will be doing, hmmm, y’know, anything but sleep.

Kinky.

Anyway, ‘No Sleeep’ is, as said by many reviewers before me, a sultry slow burner that builds with each verse and I think this is pretty much the soundtrack for our *liquid dream*.

[Laugh]

And yes, I love how "The Queen of Insomnia" doesn't start her new era with a loud experimental tune, but rather, letting us be at awe with her strongest sonic: sexy.

Listen below and drop us a comment, ya!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
