Single Review | Nicki Minaj - Bed of Lies (feat. Skylar Grey)

Nicki Minaj
Bed of Lies (feat. Skylar Grey) - Single
Young Money / Cash Money / Republic
Release date: November 16, 2014

Nicki Minaj has enlisted the in-demand songwriter, Skylar Grey, for a personal track, 'Bed of Lies'.

Described as a more detailed version of 'Pills 'N Potion', this track deals with heartbreak that pushes her to consider suicide: "Couldn't believe that I was home alone, contemplating overdosing," Minaj sings in the first verse.

It's a pretty solid dark song, TBH.

As usual, Grey sounds angelic in the chorus and bridge, while Minaj provides that much-needed oomph to make this song much harder.

'Bed of Lies' got this anthemic quality to it and I could hear it in a sing-along session for Minaj's upcoming world tour.

This track will be in the rapper's forthcoming LP, The Pinkprint, due December 15, 2014.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
