Single Review | Rihanna - Work (feat. Drake)

Rihanna

Roc Nation / Westbury Road
Release date: January 27, 2016

Finally, Rih has released the "first single" off her forever-delayed eighth studio album, Anti.

'Work', a tropical and breezy track (for January? Really?), saw the singer working together (alongside eight writers) with Drake for the third time. It's light and upbeat, a striking contrast from her previous chart-banger, 'Bitch Better Have My Money'.

Do I love it? Hmm, yeah. Kinda, actually. It sounds a lot like her work from her debut album, Music of the Sun. By that, I mean it got me thinking about sleeping in a hammock with the wind slowly blowing from the beach.

But, LOL, wake up, it's still #Blizzard2016!

Anyway, in my opinion, 'Work' might be a grower. A meh effort for a mega comeback of this wild queen from Barbados. Next single, perhaps?

P/s: Anti might be released this week (some wack sources told Billboard yesterday). Still, I'm stoked!

P/s/s: The album leaked. So much for the build up, eh?

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
