If anyone needs a reminder of what the 80's looked like, y'all better go to the record store and buy this album by this new English rebel of pop, Charli XCX. In vinyl, please.

Better known to the world for appearing alongside Iggy *Igloo Australia* Azalea in last year's summer anthem, 'Fancy', and written one of 2013's biggest hits, 'I Love It', for that-one-hit-wonder-Swedish-lesb-duo, Icona Pop, Ms. Charlotte Aitchison (AKA Charli XCX) has come a long way from then.

By that I mean this girl took a totally different route than her previous works.

Marking her own territory with the release of her sophomore LP, Sucker, Charli has ventured out to the more edgy corner of pop's golden era, the 80's. Instead of making a vibe of the style back then (like Taylor Swift did with 1989), Charli opted to channel that whole era: from her rocker-chic new image, rebel-esque lyrics, and that garage sounds in her music - she even incorporate all of those elements in her videos.

To be honest, I kinda digging this whole thing.

Sucker packed with sugar free pop rock tracks that are decent enough to be played at some hipster party and despite how badly that sounds to you, this album is pretty awesome on its own.

OK, I am rambling here but I think you got my point: this album is bad ass in its own way and this one may not be listed in any top-selling record list but who cares 'cos the music is so good you need to listen to it again and again.

Some of my favourite tracks here are 'Boom Clap' (obviously), 'Gold Coins', 'Doing It', 'Break the Rules', 'Breaking Up', and 'London Queen'. The least fav? I have none!

Anyway, I'm gonna repeat what I just written above: y'all need this dope record. This is a good one if you need a change of pace from the current wave of music.

Satisfaction, guaranteed!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.
