Norwegian-Iranian popstar Tooji may not have been a household name outside of his home country before but he is well on his way now. You know what they say, all publicity is good publicity.

Former representative of Norway for Eurovision in 2012 – the infamous leg in Baku where (ironically) Iran boycotted Azerbaijan for promoting nothing but a gay parade disguised as a music event – the singer has since released many singles but nothing as controversial as his latest emvee for 'The Father Project'.

The steamy NSFW video features Tooji as a scorned lover confronting his lover, a closeted priest, at the entrance to a church where the latter is in the midst of conducting a mass. In addition to the confrontation, there are also flashback scenes of the couple getting it on during happier times and before long Tooji imagines a different world where the sexy priest and him start having sex at the altar as the whole congregation watches on with mouths agape. Wow.

Shot at the Frogner Church in Oslo, the envelope-pushing video unsurprisingly has garnered the wrath of the Church of Norway for desecrating the sanctity of the altar with simulated sex acts. Besides touching on the topics of religion and closeted homosexuals, the emvee also serves as the official coming out video for the human rights advocate.

Shot in black and white, in addition to its topic, the video undoubtedly brings to mind Hozier's hit song 'Take Me to Church', albeit not being as deep lyrically or musically. What do you think? Take me to church for the father project? Or too much? Let us in the comments section below.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
