LP Review | George Ezra - Wanted on Voyage

George Ezra
Wanted on Voyage
Columbia / Sony
Release date: June 30, 2014

By Shawal Ras

I just got a copy of Wanted on Voyage, and George Ezra is kinda like my new muse in music.

This debut LP by the young lad from England is filled with stories of love and heartbreaks and I kinda love him for making it such a simpler record which really stands out in today's music market.

Relying much on guitar, bass, and a few more instruments here and there, this record got that whole joyous feel to it and I kinda like it.

'Leaving It Up to You', 'Did You Hear the Rain', 'Budapest', 'Stand by Your Gun', and 'Spectacular Rival' are some of my favourites in this album.

And Ezra's voice - that will stand out every single time despite him looking so young!

Sure after a while you'll find some songs are kinda repetitive, but listening to Wanted on Voyage in its entirety is a wonderful experience.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars.
