Two of the biggest UK exports from the early Millennium, Busted and McFly, has teamed up to release a new album called McBusted.

The band, made up of McFly's Harry Judd, Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, and Busted's James Bourne and Matt Willis (boo - Charlie Simpson - boo!), returned to the scene last year with a successful summer tour and now, they've released their first major LP together.

McBusted, an album influenced by the likes of Weezer, Blink 182 and a hint of GreenDay's early works, this album is definitely on the good radio-friendly side of punk-rock and most of the tracks here are absurdly catchy and pop-culture referenced lyrics that'll leave you feeling awesome throughout its 40-minutes play.

From the fast paced 'Air Guitar', the autobiographical nature of 'What Happened to Your Band', and electro-esque tracks like 'Get Over It' and 'Gone' - this album is fast enough to become one of my favourites to kick off 2015.

Another one of my fav tunes is the pounding 'Better Before You Knew Me'. The lyrics and melody are absolutely beautiful yet funny at the same time; "You were high definition, now you're barely 720 / You were Ooops I Did It, but now you're like a shaven Britney / So leave me."

*Chuckles*

Even though many are telling me they're unoriginal or unauthentic, but put 'em aside today's boybands, you can't deny the fact that they have that songwriting ability, which is better than having ridiculous memorised dance routines (*cough* One Direction *cough*).

Anyway, I'm looking forward for another record by this superband. I used to say I hate this type of two-in-one band but now, with McBusted, I think they've proven me wrong.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
