Music Video Review | Taylor Swift - Shake It Off

Taylor Swift
Shake It Off - Single
Big Machine
Release date: August 18, 2014 (Single / Music Video)

Taylor Swift has finally gone pop!

This morning, Ms. Swift announced that she'll be releasing a fully produced pop album called 1989 which is inspired from the late 80's bright and neon sound. Coming together with a new single, Taylor gave us the world première of her new music video, 'Shake It Off', the first single off her fifth record.

The single, a carefree tune about having fun and being relaxed, is a very cool and radio-friendly pop song. It is filled with the sound of horns and catchy chorus that should easily be inscribed in your brain in no time (I've been humming to this since the song premièred!).

"Cos the players gonna play play play / Haters gonna hate hate hate."

Plus. Taylor dissed on what haters are still saying about her love life: "I go on too many dates / But I can't make 'em stay / At least that's what people say."

Anyway. The music video is a lot more crazier.

From hamster-dancing ballet chick to Skrillex-like gal, an alien, the popular girl, and the most shocking of all, a twerking blonde (well, she can't twerk, but at least she tried) - Swift is definitely shaking it off her chest!

Kudos to Swift and her team for keeping this project a huge secret from day one!

Have to say, Taylor Swift is no longer the girl on the bleacher, and finally the "it" cheerleader.

P/s: 1989 will be released on October 27th, 2014 and currently available for pre-order via iTunes.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
