I think it is a trend where studios nowadays create soundtrack albums that are studded with tunes by rock and indie acts. In this case, with the likes of Lorde, Imagine Dragons, the Lumineers, Mikky Ekko, Ellie Goulding and Coldplay (and so so so many more) - this should make a great collection.

To tell you the truth, I don't think any of the tracks here are a good fit with the ambiance surrounding the film. Critics are kinda harsh with this album and I agree with them. Other than Coldplay's 'Atlas', the Lumineers' 'Gale' and Lorde's 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World', none of the songs here are synonymous with the scenes in the movie. As a stand alone album however, this soundtrack is pretty much a good collection. All thanks to its all-stars list!

My summary: film-wise, this collection can be better. Music wise, this is very good!

I'm cutting this short, so, yea, you should buy this. Just look at the list: why would you ignore the album just because of one snazzy critic (like this one - haha).

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
