Daya's Second Single Gets A Frivolous Sci-Fi Video Treatment and Cornrows

Sometimes some music videos are so disappointing you ending hating a perfectly good song. Case in point: 'Sit Still, Look Pretty' by Daya.

One of the catchiest and lyrically profound tracks in the Pittsburgh-native's debut album, 'Sit Still, Look Pretty' could easily translate to a female anthem that resonates with the younger generation of teenage girls if done right. Unfortunately, as of now, it appears that the ship has sailed, far far away to be forgotten.

First of all why cornrows? I mean why why why? So many different directions could have been taken for the message behind the song and this is where the director (who we are not naming/shaming) have chosen to go? I mean, sci-fi is not bad but taking the song's title literally and just making her sit there in different clothes is just lazy. And it's not even sci-fi done good. Jarring of it all is how the emvee ends, with Daya making guys go topless and trapping them inside a glass box.
