LP Review | Jennifer Lopez - A.K.A.

Jennifer Lopez
A.K.A.
Capitol
Release date: June 13, 2014

Our favorite girl from the block, Jennifer Lopez, is back with a new album aptly titled A.K.A.

Honestly, I don't like the album at all. Other that the second single, 'First Love' and my favourite ass-anthem, 'Booty', none of the tracks here are worth the price of the album (at MYR40, it's a little expensive, yknow).

A.K.A. feels sloppy and a mess. Sure the cover is super red hot, but the mixture of pop, hip hop and disco is not working well for this LP. I'd love to see Lopez do one genre instead of mixing everything into one boring record. Is this a rejuvenation of her debut LP, On the 6? No, it's not.

But, thank goodness for the bonus track, 'Tens' which is a song about stomping the runway and pose for endless major designers. She may not be a model, but this track got me imagining her strutting in endless designer frocks. THIS will definitely be any drag queen's life soundtrack in the next few years (guaranteed!).

Anyway. Is this her best album to date? Definitely not, but I know she'll do another record soon. Let's hope it'll be as good as Love? instead of this.

Rating: 1.5 out of 5 stars.
