 Becky G - the example that great things sometimes come in small packages – has released the official video for her latest dance single 'Break A Sweat'. 
The drum-driven power bottom anthem, as exposed by BuzzFeed's thirst trap Christian Zamora, is another catchy track by the petite songstress well-known for her clever remixes and covers such as 'Becky from The Block' and 'Die Young'. The video itself is very urban and quirky, befitting the sound of the song with Becky appearing in various cool sets and outfits while promoting various brands of items.

Speaking of urban, we have got to talk about Becky G's recent appearance in the behemoth TV phenomenon that is Empire. The 18-year old played the lead singer of a female group that never materialised but stole the show as one of Hakeem's side chicks and took the opportunity to shed any juvenile vibes that she may have been giving by getting into the same tub for a bubble bath with the rapper.

It is definitely up to an adult woman to play whichever character she wants or appear in whichever scene she prefers without having to answer to nobody. However, the backlash against female artists who champion their sexuality is especially augmented if they do not fit the mould of what a sexy woman is perceived to be, and in this case women who may appear a lot younger than their age. Other singers like Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande have also come under a lot of scrutiny recently for how they wish to present their body when promoting their music and their image in general due to their bodies being different than what is accepted to be the norm.

Having said that, however, it is also important for the artists themselves to take a step back and evaluate the impact of their actions on their mainly teenaged fans. They may not want to be anybody's role model but their power as influencers is undeniable and unfortunately makes their individual deeds communicable.
