Single Review | Adele - Hello

Adele
Hello - Single
XL / Columbia
Release date: October 23, 2015 (Single / Music Video)

Adele’s hotly-anticipated 25 just got its first single released and I heart it so much!

“Hello it’s me, I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet to go over everything,” the Brit sings the power ballad over a simple piano composition. “They say that time’s supposed to heal you.”

Let’s be honest, with ‘Hello’, Adele’s new music is totally worth the four years wait (her last song was in 2012, ‘Skyfall’, which won an Oscar). It’s depressingly good and she sounds as tortured as she was in her magnum opus 21.

Production-wise, ‘Hello’ is all Adele delivering what she knows best: raw emotion and dramatic vocals. It’s a simple track that can cut you, deep.

Anyway, curiosity surrounding the singer’s third album has been sky high. So far, we’re yet to get much from her than an open letter about life and how the album is gonna be “a make up record” than another collection about the pieces of her broken heart.

The official video for ‘Hello’ also released alongside the single, so, you can check it out below and drop us @therecordblog a tweet about it!

25 due November 20th.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.
