Single Review | Austin Mahone - Dirty Work

Austin Mahone will be releasing his long-overdue debut LP pretty soon and the lead single, ‘Dirty Work’, has arrived to kick start the promotional season.

Instead of pushing another tween-pop single, Mahone, 19, jumps on the funk-revival bandwagon with a solid pop track that sounds somewhere between Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’ and Justin Timberlake’s ‘Not A Bad Thing’.

It’s a very groovy single, to be honest. I really love this.

“Go and get your body moving, you know it ain’t no 9 to 5, we’re going sundown to sunrise, dirty work, dirty work.”

Wicked!

Sexual innuendo aside, Mahone means business this time. He has been recording his debut LP and crafting his masterpiece for a pretty long time. His EP was a great 90’s throwback record, but it looks like he’s stepping up his game for the big release.

Can’t wait!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
