LP Review | Kylie Minogue - Body Language

Kylie Minogue

After having a huge worldwide success with her chart topping album, Fever, Kylie Minogue is back with a new sexy album called Body Language. The title is taken from a verse in the first single off the album, 'Slow'. This album is very different from Fever as it features R&B, hip hop, electronic pop and synthpop. Critics may hate it, but I am in love with this one!

With her new style of music and sexy Bridget Bardot-inspired look, Body Language is pretty much the sexiest album of her career. Kicking off the album is the infectious debut single, 'Slow', followed by retro pop of 'Still Standing', 'Sweet Music' and 'Obsession', then hip-hop-ish 'Secret (Take You Home)', R&B in 'Red Blooded Woman', and electronic pop in 'Chocolate' and 'Loving Days'. I love all the tracks in this album as they seem cohesive, modern and sexy altogether.

I agree, Minogue is taking a huge risk by straying away from her disco root in Fever and moving to a more adult-oriented sonic in Body Language. But, why would she stay and be known for one genre when she can completely reinvent her looks and sound? Believe me, this LP is the reason why Minogue is the next Madonna in town, albeit much sexier and much much more flirtier.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
