LP Review | Olly Murs - Never Been Better

Olly Murs

Syco / Epic

Male pop saviour and the only male alumni of The X Factor who matters, Olly Murs, is back with his fourth studio album titled Never Been Better.

After his failed attempt to break into the US market with his third offering, Right Place Right Time, Murs decided to focus on his main market and get into the studio with the likes of Wayne Hector, Claude Kelly, Steve Robson and collaborator du jour, Demi Lovato.

The result? a well-packed LP with cheeky tracks and pop ballads enough to bring some happiness to your mundane day at work.

Some of the standout tracks from Never Been Better are the album opener 'Did You Miss Me?', 'Wrapped Up (feat. Travie McCoy', 'Beautiful to Me', 'Never Been Better' and the most standout track that got people talking in Twitter, 'Up', a track he did with Ms. Lovato.

Being 30, the crooner has been quoted saying that it is time for him to get a wee bit serious with his music. Tracks like 'Stick With Me', 'Let Me In' and 'Tomorrow' can easily tug your heartstrings and bring some love to the polished pop record.

My verdict? Never Been Better is a good album. Being a product of Simon Cowell, it is well-produced and certainly better than his previous album. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it the most.

P/s: You can listen to the album sampler below.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
