LP Review | Nick Jonas - Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas

So, the smallest of the JoBros (and prolly the most sexually explicit of 'em three) has returned to the music scene with a solo album that put him in the map as the new hero of pop.

This self-titled debut work by Nick Jonas revealed the singer's fresher new image and a more mature and edgier look, with a reminiscent of Justin Timberlake's Justified era. Upon my first listen, Nick Jonas contains solid number of good pop and R&B tunes which sound delightful, albeit being too much of a try-hard.

Some of my favourite tracks in this LP are 'Chains', 'Wilderness, 'Numb', 'Avalanche' and the understated 'Push'. These tracks are chart-ready and will put you in a good mood throughout its 38 minutes play.

'Jealous' is my least-favourite track in this album (remember our review 'bout this?) but since the remixed version with Tinashe got its much-deserved release, the song has been creeping into my brain for a bit and I can't help but start humming to it whenever it appears in my playlist.

Anyway, if you need a break from the synth world of today's charts and a fresher tune other than Ed Sheeran's x, then this LP would be a good listen.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
