Music Video Review | Beyoncé - Flawless (Remix) (feat. Nicki Minaj)

Beyoncé
Flawless (Remix) (feat. Nicki Minaj) - Single
Parkwood / Columbia
Release date: August 2, 2014 (Single) / October 6, 2014 (Music Video)

Drop everything you're doing. Queen Bey has a public service announcement to make.

She is FLAWLESS. She wakes up FLAWLESS. She goes out at night FLAWLESS. She be riding lifts FLAWLESS. And in case you still have any seditious doubts, the Queen's extra help are here to wipe that scepticism out of your mind.

In the video she has kindly filmed for her Beyhive, Queen Bey first has Nigerian poet Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie read out a sample of her own “We Should All Be Feminists” with big bold letters on screen in case you can't hear well. Next up is of course, the ferocious, rapping hellion Nicki Minaj who is equally-flawless, ripping up her verses the way she can easily rip up naysayers and non-believers.

Filmed in Stade de France while she was on her On The Run tour with beau Jay-Z, 'da quen', her partner in crime Minaj and dancers don Versace prints while she sports a headdress worthy of a commander and leader. A couple of side notes: Someone most definitely lost their hand after the song for grabbing on to the Queen when she reached out just for fun. And we're kind of disappointed the call for Onika was not as fierce as it in the track..

Honestly though, the best part of the PSA (music video) for me is when Nicki says 'Malaysian'. I know she only meant the weave but still, fangirling here!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
