Single Review | Freaky Fortune - Rise Up (feat. RiskyKidd)

Release date: March 21, 2014

Greek duo, Freaky Fortune, has released a single called 'Rise Up' as Greece's entry for last week's Eurovision Song Contest.

Background story: Freaky Fortune is consists of Nicolas Raptakis and Theofilos Poubouris, both 23. They gained internet breakthrough after they covered Katy Perry's 'Part of Me' and it was featured in Perez Hilton's website. Awesome, aight?

'Rise Up' is an uptempo pop song and yes, same as what I've written for Twin Twin previously, I love it! Given by their looks and the mainstream-ish tune of this track, it's a sure hit maker.

Nonetheless, the song ended up at 20th with 35 points, probably the worst points Greece has ever got in the last five years of Eurovision's history.

Still, it is worth to be mentioned that their performance was probably one of the best that night. The crowds are jumping and me, who's watching by the computer, am jealous!

Wonder if they'll invite me to attend next year? I can only hope for now.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
