Single OST Review | Lana Del Rey - Once Upon A Dream

Lana Del Rey
Once Upon A Dream - Single
Walt Disney
Release date: January 26, 2014

My favorite singer, Lana Del Rey, has been chosen personally by Angelina Jolie herself to sing the theme for her upcoming dark fantasy film, Maleficent, a remake of 1959's Disney's animation film, Sleeping Beauty. Oh I am obsessed with it the moment it was shown during the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

For those who never watched Sleeping Beauty during their childhood years, 'Once Upon A Dream' is the main theme of the classic animation film. This time, the legendary and beautifully hypnotizing song is hauntingly covered by Del Rey's smoky voice and the way the song being interpreted is perfect for this film. Oh, she is born to do this soundtrack! I couldn't imagine anyone who could've done this eerie lullaby better than Ms. Del Rey herself.

Maleficent is expected to hit the theaters on May 30th and seriously, Disney need to create a very dark music video for this single! Oscar 2015, perhaps?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
