LP Review | Alicia Keys - Girl On Fire

Alicia Keys

RCA Records
Release date: November 22, 2012

Alicia Keys is back with her latest album, Girl on Fire, which noted as her fifth album to reached the top position in Billboard 200. The album centers around Keys' motherhood and life after her marriage with producer, Swizz Beat.

Overall, the album isn't as good as her debut record. I'm not really loving this whole record but there are few good tracks that are definitely worth something. Other than the smashing feminist anthem, 'Girl On Fire', I totally in love with 'Brand New Me' as it is the perfect opening number for this record. Motherhood sure gave some kind of confidence on her.

Other than those two, I'd recommend you to listen to 'New Day', 'Fire We Make', 'Tears Always Win', 'Not Even the King' and 'Limitedless'. Other tracks aren't that memorable for me.

Known for her hit-single, 'Fallin', Keys visited Malaysia last month to promote this album with her Set the World on Fire World Tour. I missed her concert due to a family event, but from what I heard from my friends and colleagues, they all fell in love with her. I'm definitely hoping she'll release it in BluRay soon!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
