Music Video Review | Taylor Swift - New Romantics

Taylor Swift
New Romantics - Single
Big Machine
Release date: February 23, 2016 (Single) / April 7, 2016 (Music Video)

By Shawal Ras

One of the best few songs in 1989 (which I neglected in the album review 'cos it's listed as a bonus track - sorry!) is now a proper single and has received a tour #throwback treatment and yes, in true stan fashion, I've been bombarded with a lot of emails from Swifties to review it.

So yea, here it is...

The song, written by Swift and produced by Max Martin and Shellback, is an 80's synth pop gem hidden at the back of the album and it's pretty much a questionable move by Ms. Taylor, to be totally honest. 'New Romantics' is glowing with its 80's references, it's funky, and it's such a friendly pop anthem made with perfection.

Okay, I'm being a little excessive here. LOL.

Anyway. The video, which arrived last week, is totally lame. I was expecting a proper emvee treatment but yea, sadly, it's a tour video thingy. Although it totally made sense as the song is about a journey and having friends and family by your side. But still, I'd love to see something that envisions the visuals in my head.

Check it out below!
