Music Video Review | Taylor Swift - Out of the Woods

Hey, 2016! Taylor Swift has unveiled the final single off her 1989-era and it's my fav track, 'Out of the Woods'.

The video, shot by Joseph Kahn (the man behind Swift's 'Blank Space' and 'Wildest Dream'), is a dark fairy tale about a beautiful girl in blue dress (similar to the dress in her first video) running away from the darkness (wolves? is this 'I Know Places') of her past. She went through the four core elements (fire, water, soil, and air) that represent a relationship in turmoil and in the end, she found a way out of the woods, and saw herself from the beginning of the video.

First of all, Joseph Kahn did a wonderful job with the video. The video is gorgeously made. The CGI is blergh, but, not as dodgy as what we saw in some videos.

Secondly, I love how the video interprets the song. Instead of showing Swift as a men-torturing machine, this video is a film of a woman running through the woods, tryna survive it all without losing herself.

I'm not sure if this is the final video for 1989 era, but if it is, it's a great way to end it: "She lost him. But she found herself. And somehow that was everything."

Watch the video below.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.
