Single Review | JoJo - III.

JoJo
III. - Single
Atlantic
Release date: August 21, 2015

JoJo returns to the limelight by releasing three new singles – or a tringle – simultaneously last night.

After legal issues with her previous record label, JoJo, who was once famous for her teenage angst anthem ‘Leave’, finally able to release new materials for a proper comeback.

Packed under the name III., tracks included are the radio-friendly ‘When Love Hurts’, piano-laden tune, ‘Save My Soul’, and R&B-flavored ‘Say Love’.

IMO, JoJo sounds legit in these tracks. Her vocal is much polished than her previous works and it looks a lot like she’s ready to stomp her way back into multiple music charts. Personally, I’m not entirely in love with these singles (except for 'Save My Soul' - I love love love this one), but they are still good nonetheless.

III. is definitely a teaser of what we’ll be hearing from her forthcoming LP and with that (plus, so many great new music slowly appearing), the fall music season is definitely looming around the corner.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.
