The Weeknd’s new single is everything but subtle.
‘Often’, the latest cut to be released from Beauty Behind the Madness, got a pretty NSFW touch from the Canadian singer. From the explicit lyrics (“make that pussy poppin’, do it how I want it, often, often…”) to its gloomy music video with some blunt-smoking session and a group of mommys – an orgy, if you’re still wondering - subtlety is clearly not his forte.
Anyway. Sonically, I love the song. The Weeknd is undoubtedly a guy with a penchant for sexy sound (remember the sexed-up ‘Earned It’?) and this song is definitely one of ‘em. I doubt it’ll be a big hit for him, but it’s still a great song if you’re looking for something to like him for.
Visually - meh, it’s a boring ‘ol video. There’s not much to see other than him and a bunch of ladies poppin’ it up for *rain*.
‘Often’ is currently available with the pre-order for Beauty Behind the Madness, full release due on August 28th.
