Single Review | Tove Styrke - Number One

Tove Styrke
Number One – Single
Sony
Release date: May 13, 2015

By Shawal Ras

22 year-old Tove Styrke, up-and-coming Swedish singer, has released a perfectly poppy new single, ‘Number One’.

Described as a combination of “bubbling electronica of Robyn with the hipster synth pop of Annie and the hook-laden Euro-disco of September”, Styrke is definitely in my “watch-out” list.

‘Number One’ is an empowerment pop track that sounds a bit like Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’ with a much positive twist. The moment it starts you pretty much wanna make that pretty little happy dance even though you’re alone.

Like I said, it’s very poppy. And it makes you terribly jolly, like MDMA (if you don't know, don't Google).

Listen to the track below and drop us a comment! 'Number One' is available in Styrke's debut album, Kiddo, now available on iTunes.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
