Music Video Review | Sia - Chandelier

Sia
Chandelier - Single
Monkey Puzzle / RCA
Release date: March 17, 2014 (Single) / May 6, 2014 (Music Video)

Sia, our favourite girl behind David Guetta's 'Titanium' and Rihanna's 'Diamonds', is finally leaving her own footprints in the industry with the release of her new single, 'Chandelier'.

The song is an ode to the empty life of party goers: "Party girls don't get hurt / Can't feel anything, when will I learn / I push it down, push it down, oh," she sings.

It's a pretty dark song, to be honest. But still, it's unbelievably catchy throughout its four minute run. And that chorus is nuts! Honestly, this is her best vocal she has ever delivered.

Meanwhile, the music video is pretty OK. There's no sight of Sia in the film, but the petite dancer (her name? Maddie Ziegler) is definitely the ultimate star. She is spinning, kicking, falling, twirling, etc, in a deserted room - pretty much evoking the pain behind this song.

Sia's new album, 1000 Forms of Fear, is out now.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
